President of the Czech Chamber of Members Tomio Okamura caused a political storm. fresh Year's speech, in which in the context of Ukraine he said, among others, "let them bargain but not with our money", and The ruling people there called “the thieves building gold toilets”, met with large outrage of Kiev and Czech opposition.

In the published fresh Year's message, the leader of the Freedom Movement and Direct Democracy (SPD) did not dress up in words. Okamura criticized military aid for Kiev, calling it war “totally pointless”. In his opinion, public funds should go to Czech pensioners, people with disabilities and families, alternatively than being wasted on reinforcements under the dictatorship of "pro-war propaganda".

The politician argued that money must not be given to Czech citizens to foreigners, and that Western aid only serves arms companies producing "small effective weapons", destroyed by the Russians "yet before reaching the front".

However, the strongest accusations were made to the Ukrainian authorities. The president of the Czech Lower home of Parliament spoke of the “Zelenski Junta” and “Ukrainian thieves” who build gold toilets. Okamura formulated the thesis that The Czech Republic must “take off the Brussels train” which – in his opinion – heading for planet War III. He summarized his arguments by stating that Ukrainians can steal, “but not from our money anymore”, adding that specified a country should not belong to the European Union.

The reaction of the Ukrainian side was rapid. Ukrainian Ambassador to Prague Vasily Zwarycz called these words unworthy, totally unacceptable and – and of course – shaped by Russian propaganda. The diplomat expressed his anticipation that the Czech authorities and the public would decently measure the attitude of a state-based policy. The Ukrainian Parliament president Ruslan Stefanczuk besides joined the criticism.

Minister of abroad Affairs Czech Petr Macinka told CTK agency that does not consider it appropriate for an ambassador of a abroad State to publically measure the statements of 1 of the highest representatives of the Czech State. If any diplomatic mission has reservations or questions, there are standard diplomatic channels. Czech policy is simply a substance of Czech citizens and their democratically elected representatives – Marked Macink.

The Czech ‘opposition’ is besides outraged. The Civic Democratic organization (ODS) announced the initiation of an appeal procedure. There are words about the “disgrace of the full Czech Republic” and even about the “collaborant statements” of Okamura.
