Leszek Miller: Defiled

The defilement in Red Square showed a leader who is more afraid of his own image than of the result of the war. The Kremlin built the atmosphere of the historical moment, talked about the clash of civilizations, the fight against NATO and the existential conflict with the West. Meanwhile, on the day of rehearsal, we saw a leader who acted as if he was most afraid of his own weakness. due to the fact that if individual truly believes in their power, they don't organize a defilade in halftones. It doesn't limit dense equipment. It does not seem as if any additional cannon could prove besides costly a failure to the front. The large powers do not send a signal to the world: “We show a little, but not besides much, due to the fact that we will find that we have no more”.
Putin was trapped in his own propaganda. If he wants to be a leader ready for everything, he should have held a parade without any half-measures: tanks, launchers, latest rocket systems, full force demonstration. At the same time, say brutally and unequivocally: "If Moscow is attacked, Kiev will turn into a rubble." Then the planet would be clear that the Kremlin would respond crushingly in the event of an attack, and what is more, it has instruments to do so.
Meanwhile, the impression of ambiguity will stay in the Kremlovski image. And politics hates vacuum. If Putin does not show full force, the questions immediately arise: why? No courage? Fear of escalation? Or is it simply a deficiency of equipment and equipment capable of carrying out a mass impact?
With this in particular, opponents and supporters of Putin will be impressed. any will callback the parade at Red Square on November 7, 1941, erstwhile Germany stood at the gates of Moscow. Army troops marched through Red Square and any of them then went straight to the front, which was 20 km from the center of the capital.
All of this is borne by Zelenski with his “allowance” on the parade in Moscow. any audiences seem delighted with the idea. They cannot comprehend the context going far beyond the sandbox. I encourage you to leave the playground. A clown can become president, but a president can't be a clown.
