Doctor Gizela Jagielska – the victim of physical assault, media assault and political intimidation – inactive cannot return to average working life. In the conversation between Piotr Nowak and Piotr Szumlewicz, the “From the Political Bottom” program shows a image of a state that cannot defend its own citizens from extremists. At the same time, politicians of the Confederation of the Polish Crown proceed to run hatred, and the government, despite the declaration, does not scope out to the doctor a helpful hand.
A country that does not defend victims
Gizela Jagielska, a gynaecologist from Lower Silesia, became a symbol of how easy it was in Poland to make the victim a "controversial figure". After she legally performed the abortion procedure, her infirmary was invaded by a group of activists Grzegorz Braun. The doctor was locked in an economical room, restricted her freedom, and then unleashed a violent hatred run against her.
The net compared it to Mengele, published hundreds of graphics, and utmost right-wing environments began to put force on hospitals not to hire her anywhere. The effect? Jagielska lost her job, and another institutions – threatened by pickets – withdrew from the interview.
Skalik and Braun: a policy of intimidation
In the conversation of Nowak and Szumlewicz, the thread of Włodzimierz Skalik – 1 of the most extremist activists of the Confederation of the Polish Crown – is peculiarly strong. Skalik publically announced that "after taking power" Jagielska would have nothing to look for in Poland.
