Le Pen at rally in her defense: court cannot nominate candidates for election

The far-right National Rally has called a rally on Place Vauban in defence of Marine Le Pen, who is barred from moving in the spring presidential election following her ruling in a case involving the fictitious employment of assistants to far-right MEPs. At the rally, she argued that the verdict against her was a “political decision,” and spoke of a “witch hunt” and “deviations” from democracy.
