Large layoffs at Sebastian Kulczyk's soda plant. MEPs intervene

Qemetica (formerly Ciech) has announced plans to completely shut down soda production at its Janikowo plant, as a consequence of which up to 350 people will lose their jobs. The reason is said to be advanced energy costs and the deficiency of protection against competition from outside the EU. MEPs Krzysztof Brejza and Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz made an appeal in this matter.
