On Thursday, August 6, 2026, a year has passed since Karol Nawrocki took his oath before the National Assembly, which formally started his word as president of Poland. On this occasion, erstwhile president Aleksander Kwasniewski gave an interview to Jerzy Baczyński in the weekly "Politics", in which he assessed personality traits and kind of office by the current head of state.

When asked about the characteristics of Karol Nawrocki, Aleksander Kwasniewski described him as a extremist person, describing his approach to political relations:

"Uncompromising, not open to honest dialogue, not accepting reasons that do not fit their own concept. That is mostly uncompromising, going at the start and drawing from this clash, from conflict, a certain pleasure, satisfaction."

Kwasniewski about Nawrocki's past

In the further part of the discussion, the erstwhile president referred straight to Karol Nawrocki's cheering past, bringing it together with his own experiences and approach to competition:

"You know, if someone's going on a setup... I'm a football fan, too, and I've never been on a stand. I'm a long way from this due to the fact that if my squad is losing the game, I accept the score. Sometimes I take offense at the judge, sometimes on weather conditions, but I don't think I can get revenge on the opposing team's fans or fight them. And to set it up so that this adrenaline will evaporate from us – these are peculiar features.”

Aleksander Kwasniewski described himself as a "radical moderate" individual and recalled earlier warnings given by the historian, prof. Antoni Dudek, concerning the election of the current president:

"And radicalism can besides have a very utmost side. And I think that in the case of Karol Nawrocki's character or psychology, I'm dealing with something like that. And there is, in my opinion, no cynicism.... In the case of Karol Nawrocki, it is necessary, I think, to perceive to what prof. Antoni Dudek said about him, who warned us before choosing him: “You do not know him yet, you will know him.” Here we go."
