The right to vote of Polish women won precisely 105 years ago. Before Americans, French, Spanish and Italian... After the return of Marshal Piłsudski of Magdeburg, women's representatives, forging iron while hot, aware that the fresh state is forming, gave him a petition on electoral equality: In a truly democratic country, which Poland is about to become, the regulation of civilian rights on grounds of sex is an outcast and gross injustice, especially with respect to the widely outlined draft of the future constitution.

The electoral decree prepared by Józef Piłsudski by the government of Jędrzej Moraczewski was signed on 28 November 1918 and was published in diary of the Rights of the Polish State No. 18 under heading 46: The electorate to the Sejm is any national of the state without sex difference who, by the date of the election, turned 21. The goal was achieved, but the press – left, right and conservative – widely and differently commented on the granting of voting rights to Poles. Today, after more than a 100 years, we are discussing again the legitimacy of women's elections. However, the context is somewhat different. It turns out that almost all another Pole does not plan to exercise this right. According to Ipsos data from March this year, only 55 percent of women aged 18-39 declare that they will definitely participate in the elections. Among Poles aged 40 to 59, this percent is somewhat higher – 56%.
