On 23 September, an operation under the code name "Feniks" was launched, involving more than 200 soldiers of 8 Kujawsko-Pomorskie Territorial Defence Brigade. All 4 battalions of 8 K-PBOT from Toruń, Inowrocław, Grudziądz and Włocławka participate in the provision of widely understood assistance in flood areas. Independent companies were besides involved. If necessary, more soldiers may be directed to assist immediately. Last weekend with 8 K-PBOT there were over 400 of them.
Logistics Company active in Land-Zdrój
Destroyed urban infrastructure requires logistical assistance. Soldiers of the logistics company (klog) 8.K-PBOT help, among others, preparing and distributing meals. Equipment separated together with soldiers (cisterial drinking water, bread-carrier, refrigerated food transport vehicle or field kitchens) enables the preparation of a hot meal which is then handed out to volunteers, firefighters, policemen and soldiers helping to remove the effects of flooding. Food is besides delivered to the most deprived surrounding villages specified as Trzebieszowice and Radochów.
81 blp continues to assist in the Śląski Site, 82 blp in Kłodzek
The nature of the actions of soldiers in the village of Stronie Śląskie is already focused practically entirely on the removal of damage. On the last weekend, nearly 200 soldiers with 81 blp and a company of bomb squads supported the local residents in removing the destroyed equipment and saving the property that remained. River settlements and another impurity must be removed from dwellings and homes as shortly as possible to let rooms to dry during the last warm days. Torun soldiers were assisted by their battalion commander, Major Daniel SIUDAK.
Lower bank - strengthening shafts
On Saturday, 50 soldiers of the 84th Light Infantry Battalion (blp) from Włocławek were sent to aid strengthen floodbanks in Brzeg Dolny. The advanced water position in Oder during the passing flood wave caused the request to act both day and night. In the villages of Prochowice and Kwiatkowice, soldiers of 83 blp and school company control and strengthen the shafts.

Dr. Krzysztof Stańczyk, who was previously Commander of the 8th Kujawsko-Pomorskie Territorial Defence Brigade.
Ministry of Defence wants to support entrepreneurs who employment WOT soldiers
The Ministry of Defence has developed a draft amendment of the laws to encourage employers to employment territorial defence soldiers and an active reserve.
The intent of the regulation - as the ministry stated - is to increase the attractiveness of territorial military service and increase the numbers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. The government will work on regulations to strengthen the Territorial Defence Army (WOT), said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the next crisis staff flood gathering on Friday in Nowa Sola. "No 1 in Poland will debate whether WOT is needed or not, due to the fact that it is best to prove whether individual is needed in times like this" - stated the head of government.
"The intent of the task is to encourage employers to employment territorial defence soldiers and an active reserve, by introducing taxation preferences, preferences in applying for a public contract by specified an entrepreneur and replacing the severance payments paid to workers appointed for territorial military service – first delivery" - we read in the information about the reasons and the request for solutions planned in the project. The fundamental change is intended to include, inter alia, the replacement of severance payments paid to workers appointed for the territorial military service – first service. Currently, an worker appointed to the territorial military service receives a severance fee of 2 weeks from his employer.
The planned deadline for adoption by the government of the project, for which the Deputy Prime Minister, the head of the MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, is the 4th 4th of 2024.
