The energy crisis in Cuba is mostly the consequence of a hard situation after 3 January this year, erstwhile US troops overturned Venezuela's leader Nicolas Maduro. Until then, the Caracas authorities were the largest oil supplier to Cuba, but after transporting Maduro to fresh York City, where his trial was underway, they stopped transporting the natural material. Shortly thereafter, the suspension of oil supply to Cuba was announced by Mexico.
