Cosplay is not only costumes and phase performances, it is besides a play of capturing the character in the frame. Emotions, light, phase plan and the perfect minute can make a image more than just a photograph – it can tell a story. It is this unique form of work that we celebrate in the Cosplay Foto competition, which has attracted both photographers and cosplayers who want to present their projects in a completely fresh light. This competition is simply a space for those who can combine method with artistic imagination and close cosplay magic in 1 shot. Therefore, the evaluation of the works requires exceptional experience and sensitivity – and this will be taken care of by our jury, which we will present to you in a moment!

Here are experts from cosplay photography – the jury of the Cosplay photograph competition

Pugoffka – cosplayer and cosplay photographer from Ukraine. Her adventure with photography began in 2009 and has since performed thousands of photograph shoots. Thanks to her work, she had the chance to travel around the planet and participate in more than 70 global events as invited guests.

Besides shooting pictures, he loves to share his knowledge. He regularly conducts photography workshops, based on his passion to convey experience and inspire others to make his own creative paths. He besides loves to make costumes himself, working with materials specified as EVA foam erstwhile building props and armor elements. It besides develops in the area of exploration of various painting techniques and in wig styling.

She is the owner of a photographic studio for cosplayers, in which fresh scenography and locations are constantly developed to aid creators realize their visions in the form of photographs. The artist actively promotes cosplay – both in Ukraine and abroad.

Natalia Zahora – for many years cosplay photographer associated with mang and fantastic environment. She started in 2004 as a cosplayer, with time she became increasingly curious in photography and so the hobby turned into photographing another creators. For years she was besides active in fandom life – she co-organized manga conventions and was a justice of cosplay competitions and cosplay photography.

Since 2008, together with her husband, she led the first cosplay photograph studio in Poland operating at conventions. Today, Natalia works as a graphic artist and photographer, inactive photographing cosplay, where she combines cosplayer experience with the artist's eye. This allows it to capture not only the costume, but besides the climate and past of the portrayed character. Her work can be viewed on social media.

Omaru– besides known as James – is simply a Filipino photographer and video creator surviving in Paris. Since the discovery of his passion for photography in 2008, he has consistently developed, creating authentic and dynamic visual stories – both in the form of photographs and video materials.

The artist has been actively associated with the French cosplay community since 2009, while in 2010 he began to make cosplay films, building a portfolio that over time gained wide audience and appreciation. During his career, he collaborated with major gaming brands specified as Riot Games, Bethesda, Ubisoft or Activision Blizzard, implementing high-quality visual projects combining creativity with expressive brand identification.

Currently he acts as an independent creator in France and throughout Europe, cooperating with both companies and artists in creating engaging visual materials. It is known for its distinctive usage of natural light – its kind combines the atmosphere, emotions and realism, giving each work a movie character.

Omaru regularly visits the largest European and global conventions, where he constantly seeks fresh inspiration and papers a dynamically developing global cosplay scene.

The Cosplay photograph competition is not only a competition, but above all an chance to show your artistic sensitivity, the ability to tell past with an image and capture what is most crucial in cosplay – passion and emotions. Your work will be supervised by artists who know cosplay well from both the photographic and creative sides. Their experience, diverse approaches and global position make you number on a reliable and inspiring assessment.
