Our hearts are just tired. Tired of constant disputes in the media, in politics, even in the Church. Today, on this Passover night, Christ wants to open them, to light them with hope, to give their peace," said Fr.
– Through the cross and the empty grave of his Son, God offers peace to mankind. Not strength. Not power. Not the advantage that this planet knows, but the mildness and humility of the Lamb," said Fr. Bishop Muskus in his homily, adding that in the call "Do not be afraid" addressed by Christ to women there is simply a Christian message of the Night of Resurrection.
As he pointed out, the Risen gives peace to mankind. – Not the 1 that can be fought in conflict fields, negociate between the powerful of this world, gaining the advantage of the stronger over the weak. The peace that brings the Risen is the peace of the cross, not the sword," emphasized the bishop.
He recalled that the light of the Passover is simply a symbol of Christ who enters “the deepest darkness of our conflicts and wars to grant mankind a blessing of peace.”
– This area Pope Leon XIV called the breath of eternity, which resists violence. Peace is the origin of unity and healing of human relationships. It is simply a cure for loneliness and social crises. specified peace is brought by Christ where he sends us: to our individual Galilee, that is, to our homes, our communities, our jobs and our teachings, and above all to our hearts," the clergy said.
The bishop noted that fear and anxiety frequently present engulf people's hearts, which are “disturbed by the world's situation and the war behind our east border, saddened by the loneliness of the elders and the failure of young people who are incapable to find their place on earth, broken by the deficiency of prospects and hope for the future, corrupted by the divisions between us and strangers.”
– Can we halt a spiral of force in the mediate East, Ukraine and so many another places in the world? Are we able to halt the crazy impulses of planet leaders? We are not – Fr. Bishop Muskus concluded. But as he added, any man can become a keeper of peace.
– Each of us can build it first in our own heart. Each of us can answer the same call that women heard that morning: Don't be afraid. Go and tell your brothers that the Lord has risen," encouraged the clergy.
- I'm sorry. Let us not succumb to the pessimism of a planet that has forgotten God and that promises that there will never be peace. The area is at hand. It is essential to open up to it – Fr. Bishop Muskus argued, quoting examples of people who “ service the people suffering from the rubble of bombed cities and villages” and share “small gestures of selfless goodness in our regular life”.
– These are the people of peace," he said.
– Let these examples build us. Let us join this chain of goodness – defenceless but disarming evil – appealed Fr.
In the sanctuary of St. Anthony of Padua, in which the lesser brothers of this order served, the bishop recalled the example of St. Francis of Assisi, who was “a keeper of peace, who is born out of love on the cross of Christ and takes power after his resurrection.”
Francis, an unarmed small brother who met with a powerful sultan. Francis serving humbly weak, sick and excluded. Francis, who renounced all the world's strength for the mild beauty of the Gospel. Let him lead us in the ways of peace and light with the risen Lord," said Bishop Muskus.
– Let us ask by his intercession that we become tools of peace in a troubled planet – he finished.
