In the Concate of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Żywiec, Fr. In his homily, he emphasized that Christ's empty grave is not only a sign of the triumph of life over death, but besides a “open book of the Gospel” from which all believer can read God's message of hope.

The bishop pointed out that the grave – usually associated with fear, sadness and transientity – becomes a origin of joy and hope in the case of Jesus.

– There is only 1 grave that does not scare away, but attracts due to the fact that it is empty," he noted. He recalled that the resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith, and that the gathering with the Risen 1 takes place constantly in the life of the Church.

– Today's liturgy invites us to halt over this empty grave like over the open book of the Gospel and read from it God's message – he encouraged.

Referring to the description of John's Gospel, the bishop noted that the witnesses of the empty grave – Mary Magdalene and the apostles – experienced surprise, though Jesus himself foretold his resurrection.

Bishop Greger pointed out that without the resurrection of the large Friday event they would have no power to transform the world.

– If Christ had not risen from the dead, there would be no Christianity, there would be neither the Church nor our liturgy today," he explained. He drew attention to the extremist change of the apostles, who became courageous witnesses of the religion of the fearful.

He pointed to the importance of the Eucharist as a origin of eternal life. He reminded Jesus of the request to eat His Body and Blood, pointing out that eternal life begins here on earth.

– He who eats my body has eternal life," he said, explaining that it is the reality present in the life of believers that leads to the resurrection on the last day.

– The Eucharistic life of man is nothing but a condition of having eternity and meriting a resurrection to glory. We, gathered at this altar today, have life. We are gathered together to experience the joy of sharing in this life, the real life, the eternal life, the origin of which lies in the fact of a grave without a tired, crucified and buried body. For the present, without this possession of God's life in itself, becomes a form of vegetation, he noted.

Finally, Bishop Greger encouraged the faithful to rediscover the mystery of life from the resurrection of Christ.

– This life gives meaning to our everyday life, gives peace, joy and courage to the future – he assured.
