U.S. president Donald Trump announced Thursday the resignation of Head of Homeland safety (DHS) Kristi Noem and nominated for her position as Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma. Noem is to become a peculiar envoy for the “Sharks of America”, the president's fresh initiative.

"I am pleased to announce that the Honourable U.S. Senator from Oklahoma, Markwayne Mullin, will take up the position of United States National safety Minister (DHS) on 31 March 2026," Trump announced in an entry on fact Social.

“Kristi Noem, who has served us well and achieved many and spectacular results (especially at the border!), will take on the position of peculiar Envoy for the Shields of America, our fresh Western Hemisphere safety Initiative, which we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida”, added the president.

Noem, formerly successful as politician of South Dakota (she was a top-notch of the state's conservative authorities who did not give in to the force of the Covid sharps and who took the initiative to completely reject the abortion industry), as head of the DHS conducted decisive and effective action against illegal immigrants.

The dismissal of Chief DHS is Trump's first resignation associate in his second term. Prior to that, Trump besides fired his national safety advisor Michael Waltz in the face of a scandal about discussing plans to hit Yemen in the Signal app involving a writer in the magazine "The Atlantic".

Noem did not mention to her dismissal during a Thursday speech at a Nashville conference, made after Trump announced his decision. It is not yet clear what the Trump initiative of "the shields of America" is to be announced, but it will be announced at the Saturday gathering of Latin American leaders with Trump in Miami.

In turn, her successor, Markwayne Mullin, has held the Senator's mandate since 2023, had previously served in the home of Representatives for 10 years. Even before that, he was, among others, a mixed martial arts fighter (MMA). It is known for its sharp language and Indian roots – it belongs to the Chiroquois tribe.

"Markwayne will proceed to work to guarantee the safety of our border, halt the crime of migrants, murderers and another criminals from illegally entering our country, put an end to the scourge of illegal drugs and bring back safety IN AMERICA," Trump promised.
