The Kremlin wants to face the West

At the end of 2022, Russia's defence minister Sergei Szojgu announced a plan to rebuild the army's organisational structure, improvement the command, make additional units and formations in almost all types of armed forces, and increase staff position to 1.5 million soldiers. These ambitious reforms are to be implemented within 3 to 4 years and are presented as a consequence to NATO enlargement - recalled in the Estonian intelligence report.
