Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski decided to close the Russian consulate in Krakow. The Russians have already announced reprisals.
The MFA will not give approval to proceed the work of the Russian Federation consulate in Krakow. The decision is related to fresh evidence regarding the fire of the Warsaw marketplace hall at Maryvilska 44, which occurred last May.
“In view of the evidence that the Russian peculiar services carried out a shameful act of diversion towards the mall close Maryvilska, I decided to retreat my consent to the Russian Federation consulate in Krakow” – the head of the MFA wrote on platform X.

The Russians had already informed the Lithuanian services that linked the perpetrators to the arson of the Vilnius IKEA.
According to the Russians, the closure of the Kraków consulate is simply a “destruction of Polish-Russian relations” and an action “against the interests of citizens”, which will not stay unanswered.
