On 8 August 2025, a "peace agreement" between Azerbaijan and Armenia was signed in Washington, D.C., announced at least as of March, but not full determined due to the opposition (weak) of the Armenian delegation to Azerbaijan's demands.
Signatures under this treaty were given by the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Alijew and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Paszynian. The agreement was concluded under force and under the auspices of president Trump, who was not only the host of the gathering and a witness to the legislative act, but besides a associate in the final phase of the negotiations. This agreement was, of course, recognised in authoritative propaganda as an outstanding success of US diplomacy and personally president Trump.
I predicted the outcome. The Washington agreement meets all the basic demands of Azerbaijan. He yet sanctifies the bloody and brutal exile of Arcach (Karabakh), the expulsion of indigenous Armenian people from this land, the demolition of the legacy of Armenian culture, especially the deliberately destroyed treasures of sacred stone architecture. He does not mention a word about the harm done to Armenians in the territory of Nahichchevan, assigned to the Azerbaijanes only by the USSR, where in the last 20 years after forced emigration of remains Armenians were even destroyed by their cemeteries, and previously deserted churches and monasteries. The current treaty, in accordance with Azerbaijan's will, requests the abolition of the alleged OSCE Minsk Group so that no 1 closely observes Azerbaijani activities in the region. Furthermore, the signed paper implements the main postulate of the Azerbaijani-de facto extraterritorial communication corridor between Azerbaijan and its Nachichevan exclave, which, of course, runs through the confederate part of Armenia, most likely along the northern bank of the River Araks (35 km) at the border with Iran. Armenia will be in ticks.
How did the Armenians benefit from this shameful agreement? An illusory but formally confirmed US protectorate, who will take over the operation of the "corridor". Will specified a solution guarantee that Armenia respects its reduced rights to its own territory ? I uncertainty it. The U.S. besides provided for the supply of “modern” technology, investments (but for themselves) and the promise of trade agreements. All these sweets are besides to be given Azerbaijan. Both Treaty Parties were besides required to establish diplomatic relations and establish economical contacts. Trump has in his own way decreed the abrupt "friendship" between the fighting parties to date – over fresh graves of Armenian victims. This reminds me of the forced relationship of the russian nations.
It is not stated whether the government of Armenia was forced to agree to delete from the Constitution the paragraphs concerning the restoration of the lost national territory. Aliyev and Pasynian “for gratitude” this gruesome “corridary” called the Trump Treaty for global peace and prosperity. However, this pompous gibberish does not obscure the humiliation and defeat of the Armenians. At the same time, appropriate media have triumphed that "global companies" are already curious in the invasion of the region. Horror. Clearly, without shields, voracious American imperialism is preparing itself in a delicate region behind the Caucasus a semicolony under political supervision, which is being launched for the economical exploitation of the "global capitalists", and a military dependency will shortly be established. Armenia's independency (since 1991) will not be a thread. The large vultures are already orbiting Araks. The Washington Agreement does not compensate for any losses and harm to Armenians from 2020 and 2023, does not mention earlier crimes committed in Armenians, ignores the painful failure of Armenian national territory with silence, but promotes the aggressor from fresh years. It's all bad for Armenia. Won't Azerbaijan remind you of the Sjunika-Zangezuru issue in a moment? Do not the United States recognise (why not) that oil and gas from Baku mean more than any Armenian province?
The agreement besides has far-reaching geopolitical repercussions. The goal of the nearest US was, of course, to push Russia out of the Caucasus. However, there will be further effects that may origin expanding concern for neighbouring countries. After the Treaty enters into force, the Americans will be "legally" in 1 way or another on the northwest flank of Iran (the border on the River Araks). For the Muslim Republic of Iran, it is simply a deadly threat that the violent government of Israel will immediately exploit. On the another hand, president Erdogan's Turkey may be very displeased by the economical and political settlement of the US in Armenia, as it will slow down or even block the pantural prospects. Meanwhile, Turkey, a pseudo-Soyancer from NATO, with her powerful army, Trump can't ignore it, the more so the double effort to overthrow Erdogan failed at nothing. On the another hand, Aliyev must take into account that the declared "love" to Trump is not adequate erstwhile the forces of "global" want to overthrow his squad in a convenient minute by means of a simple strategy - that is, the hands of obedient puppets from the alleged opposition.
Finally, the tragic aspect of the interior situation in Armenia. In order to get a suitable lair into the capitular arrangements of Paszynian's government since spring, he first “took care of” political opponents from patriotic circles, accusing naturally of conspiring with Russia, and then went against the clergy. The protagonist of the 2024 protest against territorial cesion in Tawusz Province, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanian was incarcerated in June in an investigative detention under the pretext of preparing a coup. The government is increasingly attacking Catholicos Garegin II. The orders aimed at the standing of the national identity – the Apostolic Church – are deliberate. Monster Soros, who have been maneuvering for a long time with Paszynian, hates national structures bonded with a strong spiritual tradition. These should be broken down and the degenerative model should be introduced, preferably with a advanced dose of "invaders". Then a globalist oligarchy, for idiots professing to be civilian society, will be rooted into permanent. The Armenian clergy, an expression of the thought of national independency and the treasurer of memory about the lost territories – is simply a salt in the eye of globalists. Demonstrators in Armenia under the wire, among others, consider Paszynian and his earrings simply as salesmen. Paszynana rages the fact that many Armenians associate him with a series of remarkable disasters that this country had not experienced since independency was restored in 1991. His seven-year regulation is simply a series of humiliations. The Washington Accord does not change that image, nor does it glorify it. The next fewer months will show how the susceptible Armenia, already deprived of its neighbours-sociants, will come out at subsequent concessions to Azerbaijan and in the tender care of the US. It will besides turn out quickly, whose interests will be sought by “global companies” over Araks.
