The terrible cost of Eurofighters. What did Turkey truly buy? [COMMENTARY]

The contract was signed on 26 October 2025. It provides for the transportation by Britain of 20 aircraft for the equivalent of £5.4 billion, or the equivalent of £7.2 billion. There is besides another amount related to this agreement: GBP 8 billion, or USD 10.7 billion. The smaller sum appears to be the acquisition cost along with any accompanying packages. The second is increased by the cost of building infrastructure, weapons (including previously controversial air-to-air missiles MBDA Meteor) and technology transfer. While the details of the agreement are not known, the amounts and Turkish policy in this respect leave no doubt.
