Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on Monday an extension of military cooperation with civilian hospitals as part of the program "Military Friendly Hospitals". The Minister of National Defence presented a strategy for strengthening the country's wellness safety strategy during a conference at the Military Training Centre in Jeżew close Zgierz.
MON has already concluded agreements with more than 100 civilian facilities that will offer peculiar medical support to soldiers and another persons associated with the armed forces. "We are arrogant of our military hospitals, clinics, the full military wellness care family, but this is insufficient, which is why, in the face of serious threats, we will cooperate with civilian entities" - emphasised Kosiniak-Kamish.
Context of the War Beyond the east Border
The head of the MON pointed out that building operational capabilities, strengthening the army and its transformation were needed in the face of the threats of the modern world, including the full-scale war going on for 4 years beyond the east border. "All these abilities are highly valuable, but they will be nothing if there are no ones who will supply assistance and support" - added the minister.
Hospitals located on the east border of Poland, where the needs of border protection are greatest, are peculiarly important. The Deputy Prime Minister distinguished the infirmary in Hajnówka, which already helps soldiers and officers defending the Polish border from the force of hybrid aggression from Belarus.
Record Social Trust
"You are helping victims of violent assault on Poland" - said the minister, thanking hospitals of Podlaskie, Warmian-Masurian, Mazowieckie, Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodships for supporting tens of soldiers and officers in the last 4 years. The program besides included hospitals from the center and west of the country due to large military units located in their territory.
Deputy Minister of Defence Cezary Tomczyk stressed the unique position of Poland as the only country bordering Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. "94 percent of Polish society trusts soldiers of the Polish Army - this is the highest consequence in the European Union, possibly in the world" - he noted.
Merity selection of facilities
The head of MON stressed that the choice of hospitals was purely substantive, not political or discretionary. "There was no choice of hospitals with which we wanted to enter into cooperation, either political or discretionary, it was a substantive choice" - said Kosiniak-Kamish.
Deputy Prime Minister explained that as a doctor and doctor of medical discipline who worked at the university and at the hospital, he is aware of the needs of the wellness system. The Minister besides presented a task to recreate the Military Medical Academy in Łódź, which is now entering the final phase of implementation.
Medical training system
"We request more doctors, paramedics, nurses, laboratory diagnosticians and physiotherapists" - he spoke to representatives of hospitals. Deputy Minister Tomczyk added that in the coming weeks a series of trainings for doctors will be established based on the Military Center for Medical Training.
MON builds the full system, which is to be a safeguard of Poland during the crisis, combining the civilian and military sphere. "We must be aware of our geopolitical situation and do everything to build social resilience" - said Tomczyk.
