Predicted Visit

On Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Ministry of abroad Affairs of Ukraine Heorhiy Tychyj reported that this week a visit of the Polish high-level delegation is expected in Kiev in connection with the incidental with Russian drones violating Polish airspace. He added that the intent of the visit was to learn about Ukrainian experience in combating drones.

Tychyj pointed out that detailed information will be presented by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and the head of this ministry, as well as the readiness of Ukraine to share its military experience with Poland.

The Ministry of Defence besides announced a visit by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish in an entry on the X platform, posting an authoritative message for this purpose:

The Deputy Prime Minister is with the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland in Kiev, where he will talk to, among others, his counterpart about military cooperation, further support for defending Ukraine and safety situation in the context of Russian aggression.

Organisational issues

According to PAP's information from sources close to the MON, talks are held on the organisation of joint training of Polish and Ukrainian specialists in the fight against drones, in peculiar their neutralization. It was stressed that the exercises were to take place in Poland and not in Ukraine.

On the night of 9th to 10th September, during the Russian attack on Ukraine, there was a multiple breach of Polish airspace by drones. The defence procedures were then launched, and machines creating a direct threat were shot down thanks to the actions of Polish and allied aviation. This was the first case in the fresh past of Poland, erstwhile the Air Force utilized weapons in national airspace.

Sikorski in Kiev

The visit of the Minister of National Defence in Kiev is the second most fresh visit of a typical of Polish authorities to the Ukrainian capital. On Friday, September 12, Kiev was visited by abroad Minister Radosław Sikorski, who met with Ukrainian diplomatic chief Andrij Sybiha, among others. During the talks, it was stressed that both countries stay united in the face of the escalation of Russian panic and provocation towards Poland.

Before the Polish embassy, Sikorski stressed that the intrusion of Russian drones into the Polish airspace was not accidental, thus referring to the words of US president Donald Trump, who suggested that the incidental might have been the consequence of a mistake.
