Mastalerek at Polsat News described how the president met with the leader of PSL:
"President Kosiniak-Kamish said only then: Donald Tusk, Donald Tusk. present there is simply a certain euphoria and enthusiasm among the parties that were in opposition and now they have jointly achieved the most mandates, but whether this enthusiasm will be in November 2025, erstwhile there will be elections in the PSL, we do not know this due to the fact that possibly individual will remind Kosiniak: Vladek you could have been Prime Minister” said the head of the PAD office.
President preferred PSL leader
It seems that president Duda, wanting to build himself a political base and enter into an alliance with forces outside the Law and Justice, had just preferred to entrust the mission of forming a fresh government to Kosiniak-Kamish, whom he sees as a moderately conservative, centred policy. Donald Tusk, on the another hand, is simply a sworn enemy to the president due to the long-term polarization of the PiS-PO duople. In addition, the leader of the KO allowed himself to go on verbal trips, adjutants to the President, even erstwhile he said that he would "soften his pipe" or erstwhile he threatened him with the Court of State for not complying with the regulation of law.
End of dreams about the Coalition of Polish Affairs?
It seems that the joint plan of Andrzej Duda and Marcin Mastalerek to make a fresh alliance on the right, distant from the extremist wing of the Law and Justice – namely the alleged Coalition of Polish Affairs (PiS, PSL, Confederate) for now is just a dream. Kosiniak-Kamish's decision to give the premiere to Donald Tusk clearly indicates what concerns the President.
A Lost Tactics
Although Andrzej Duda had good will and in any ways wanted to aid the Law and Justice in the creation of a fresh government, the leader of the PSL refused to consent to the coalition with the Law and Justice, most likely remembering the attacks assumed by the right against this conservative-people formation. Let us remind that Jarosław Kaczyński even called PSL "anti-clerical formation", which seems to be absurd and closes the PiS negotiating field on the rule that "on the right hand can be only us". erstwhile Kaczyński criticised the PSL for “ZSLowska's past”, Paweł Zalewski in the X service pointed out to the president of the Law and Justice Office that he himself was a supporter of the invitation of ZSL to the government in a coalition with Solidarity in 1989.
Perhaps PiS will shortly realize why Kosiniak-Kamish does not want to enter into an alliance with this party. Even the extremist politician of the United Right Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education, admitted that the mistake of his formation was not to search out a possible coalition in advance. PSL may remember how the PiS treated its coalitions – Jarosław Gowin, whose organization was de facto destroyed, has late seen this.
