North Korea threatens Japan with attacks

A typical of the Ministry of Diplomacy of North Korea condemned Japan's considering deployment of long-range rocket systems on the island of Kiusiu and threatened the country with attacks from "fair countries of the region" - said the North Korean agency KCNA on Thursday.


"Japan's impertinent quest to gain the ability to prevent an attack to cover the impact of neighbouring countries while seeking an chance to re-invade, exposes its archipelago to attacks from fair countries of the region" - said quoted by KCNA, unnamed chief of the political section of the nipponese Studies Institute in the Ministry of abroad Affairs in Pjongjang.

The nipponese Kyodo agency informed in mid-March, citing government sources that authorities in Tokyo are considering deploying long-range missiles on Kiusiu Island, in the southwest of the archipelago, as part of the effort to accomplish a "opportunity to counterattack". The systems would operate from March 2026 and would be capable of gathering targets in North Korea and along the coast of China.

Threats of the regime

North Korean media have besides accused Tokyo of maintaining an aggressive attitude through actions specified as strengthening the military alliance with the US and cooperating with NATO forces.

Leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un February assessed that trilateral military cooperation between the United States, Japan and South Korea exacerbated tensions in the region. The dictator announced retaliatory measures, including Pyongyang's improvement of atomic forces.
