North Korea began building a memorial commemorating its soldiers who died during the fighting alongside Russians in the war in Ukraine – the state media in Pyongyang reported on Thursday. Country leader Kim Jong Un called the task "a sacred sanctuary dedicated to the immortality of actual patriots".
