TEHERAN (Tasnim) – The Committee on National safety and abroad Policy of the Iranian Parliament is working on details of a 12-point plan to turn the strategical management of the Strait of Ormuz under Iran's control.
On Saturday, a associate of the parliamentary committee informed Tasnim that the review of the strategical management plan for the Strait of Ormuz was presently on the committee's agenda, noting that any of its provisions had already been approved.
Fadahossein Maleki noted that the proposal consisted of 12 articles, adding that the remainder of the plan would be examined in the upcoming sessions so that the final study of the committee could be prepared.
The MP stressed that the organisation of the movement and transit of ships across the Strait of Ormuz is simply a serious precedence for Parliament and another competent authorities, adding that decisions will be taken by Iran.
Emphasizing the request to regulate maritime traffic on a strategical waterway, he noted that, as planned, fees would be imposed on ships, as would many another global waterways.
Iran late announced plans to introduce ship tolls through the Ormuz Strait, citing the request to cover expanding safety costs. Iranian parliamentarians have stated that fees will vary depending on the kind and volume of cargo and the risks involved.
A high-ranking parliamentarian announced on 23 April that Iran received its first income from fees charged to abroad ships passing through the Strait of Ormuz, which were deposited with the Central Bank of Iran.
US warned against Iran's acute consequence to piracy
TEHERAN (Tasnim) – office of Iran military base Chatam al-Anbia warned that further acts of naval blockade and piracy from the United States would face a decisive consequence from the Iranian armed forces.
In a message issued on Saturday, office Chatam al-Anbia stressed that if the U.S. aggressive armed forces proceed the naval blockade, banditism and piracy in the region, they would face the reaction of Iran's powerful armed forces.
The message stated that the United States should be aware that the muslim Republic of Iran's Armed Forces have more strength and willingness than always to defend the sovereignty, territory and national interests of the country. It was besides added that the U.S. Army had already experienced parts of Iran's offensive capabilities during the "third war imposed".
The command besides stated that Iranian forces stay ready and determined to monitor the behaviour and movements of enemies in the region while continuing to manage and control the strategical Strait of Ormuz.
It was warned that in the event of renewed aggression by the US and the Zionist regime, they would endure even greater losses.
On February 28, the United States and the Israeli government launched an unprovoked aggression war against Iran, during which the then leader of the muslim Revolution ajatollah Seyed Ali Chamenei and respective high-ranking military officers died.
The Iranian Armed Forces responded weeks of rocket and drone attacks to US and Israeli military positions in occupied territories and the Gulf region, inflicting serious harm in 100 waves of counterattacks in 40 days.
On April 8, a two-week ceasefire was reached, brokered by Pakistan, which paved the way for talks in Islamabad. During the negotiations Iran made a ten-point proposal that included withdrawing US forces and abolishing sanctions.
However, after 21 hours of negotiations on 11 and 12 April, the parties did not scope an agreement, and Iranian representatives pointed to deep distrust of Washington's willingness to comply with their commitments.
Iran has made it clear that the possible return to the ceasefire negotiations depends on the abolition of the American naval blockade. The authorities argued that further blockade constitutes a breach of the truce.
