September 12, in The Festival of the Land Army, we pay tribute to the soldiers who defender the safety of the Republic all day. This is simply a peculiar holiday, due to the fact that its date reminds us of 1 of the most crucial cards in the past of Polish weapons – the Vienna Victoria of 1683. Under the leadership of King John III Sobieski, Polish soldiers then showed that courage, discipline, training and determination can find the destiny of the large war.

However, the land army's legacy is much richer. It's a tradition of teams from Cedina, knighthood from Grunwald, Hussaria and soldiers fighting under Somosierra. It is besides the memory of national insurgents, soldiers of the Second Republic and those who fought on the fronts of planet War II.

Today, ground troops stay the core of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. It is the largest kind of our armed forces, liable for defending the territory of the state, safety of borders and conducting operations in close cooperation with another types of armed forces and our allies. In the face of modern threats, we cannot halt being arrogant of history. We gotta learn from her. Therefore, we consistently strengthen the ground troops: we increase their numbers, modernize equipment, make reconnaissance, artillery, armored and anti-aircraft capabilities, and invest in training soldiers.

Modern equipment is important, but the strength of the army is always determined by man, his professionalism, morale and readiness to act. Our goal is Building the strongest army in Europe. An army able to effectively deter any possible opponent and, if necessary, defend Polish land.

RECLAMA
