During the past decade, the Polish Armed Forces entered the period of [intense modernization](https://defence24.pl/power-arms/2026-year-intense-modernization-chief-agency-armourship-presenting-priority-intelligence-intelligence), mainly related to the further deterioration of the safety environment and the increasing defence budget. This trend accelerated for apparent reasons after 2022 and the launch of a full-scale [Russia's invasion of Ukraine](https://defence24.pl/war-on-Ukraine-report-special-defence24/war-without-concern-three-scenarios-for-Ukraine). Unfortunately, the reforms have focused importantly on the most visible issue of acquiring fresh weapons systems, especially the most effective ones. It is hard to question the usefulness of fresh [multi-task aircraft](https://defence24.pl/industrial/f-35-europa-i-record-more-thinkers) or [tank](https://defence24.pl/industrial/examples-industry-industry-with-Polish-w-abrams), but 1 of the issues dealt with by the stepmother (which is unfortunately the case for decades) is the soldier's individual equipment: arms, uniformity and ballistic protection.
