End of peculiar Aid: Ukrainians Like another Foreigners

President Karol Nawrocki signed the last bill on peculiar assistance to Ukrainian citizens. The head of the presidential law firm Zbigniew Bogucki confirmed that this is the end of specified a form of support - from now on Ukrainians will be treated like all another foreigners.

The Ministry of Interior and Administration is already preparing another bill which will gradually retreat all peculiar solutions for refugees from Ukraine. The hotel announces the introduction of "system tools" which will make Ukrainian citizens subject to the same rules as another foreigners.

New rules for benefits

The Act signed in September extends temporary protection in Poland until 4 March 2026, but introduces crucial restrictions. The right to benefits 800 plus was linked to the professional activity of the parent and the learning of children in the Polish school.

Foreigners now gotta gain at least 50% of the minimum wage for work. In 2025 this means a minimum of PLN 2333 gross per month.

Union context

The solutions arise from an EU Council decision which extended EU temporary protection until 4 March 2026. The EU countries agreed to a further extension until March 2027, but with the gradual withdrawal of temporary protection.

The bill was prepared after the August veto of president Nawrocki for an earlier amendment. The president then argued that the benefit of 800 plus should only be paid to those who work in Poland.
