Names on lists

As of Monday, members of the U.S. legislature have the chance to review about 3 million pages of papers related to Jeffrey Epstein's sex offender case. Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, after reading the documents, reported that he had found the names of at least six men whose presence in the file might be incriminating to them. He pointed out that in a version of the material previously published by the Department of Justice, these names were hidden, and their uncovering required careful examination of the documents. However, he did not identify circumstantial persons, adding that among them is simply a highly placed typical of abroad authorities.

Democrat Jamie Raskin, in turn, expressed the opinion that the Department of Justice might have violated the law by hiding any of the names in the documents. He besides pointed out that the exposed materials may unduly conceal the identity of those in contact with Epstein, which, according to him, may have been intended to defend them from possible compromising publicity.

Epstein and Trump's participation

The president stresses that in the published materials "there is nothing against him".

Donald Trump stated at the beginning of February that the papers revealed by the U.S. Department of Justice concerning Jeffrey Epstein's case were "acquitted". The U.S. president besides claimed that the file contains evidence of alleged conspiracy by a financier with writer Michael Wolff against him, and announced his intention to bring a suit against Wolff.

Michael Wolff, author of respective critical books on Trump, conducted long correspondence with Epstein on politics. In 1 exchange, he gave the financier instructions on how to deal with Trump.
