Confederate, but true?
Janusz Korwin-Mikke founded a fresh organization that was registered in the court registry of political parties as a Confederate (official abbreviation: KonFed). At the same time, his erstwhile group – Confederation of Renewal of the Republic of Freedom and independency (KORWIN), entered in the registry in April 2024, operates. A period later, it was reported that it could be removed due to formal deficiencies in financial statements.
Despite the similarity of the names, the registration of the fresh organization did not encounter any obstacles. This is due to the fact that ‘Confederation’ in the case of Sławomir Mentzen and Krzysztof Bosak is an informal term, while its full, authoritative name is the Confederation of Freedom and Independence, with the abbreviation ‘Confederation of Freedom and Nationalists’.
The organization founded by Korwin-Mikke is already the 4th organization on the Polish political scene utilizing the name "Confederation". In addition to the formation led by Mentzen and Bosak, the Confederation of the Polish Crown, Grzegorz Braun, is besides active and inactive in the registry of the Confederation of Renewal of the Republic of Freedom and Independence, besides associated with Korwin-Mikke.
Wipler claims impersonation
The Confederate MP Przemysław Wipler expressed reservations, assessing that Janusz Korwin-Mikke uses the name of his group in a way that would mislead voters. He said:
In the past, he has made many movements that have damaged our environment in different phases. However, this time it will not harm us, due to the fact that it does not have the ability to registry a letter throughout the country in elections to the Sejm. We, or the Confederate, possibly Grzegorz Braun have these organizational possibilities.

It is essential to remind at this point that Janusz Korwin-Mikke co-founded the group of the Confederation of KORWIN Braun Liroy Nationalists, which over time became a political party. After the election in 2023, however, he was suspended in the rights of a associate due to charges of "action to the detriment of the party", and after respective months he was completely removed from its ranks.
Piotr Sterkowski, a well-known environment centered around Korwin-Mikke, estimated that his fresh organization could service as an umbrella, focusing various environments. Above all, however, in the face of the hazard of eradicating the erstwhile formation from the register, Korwin-Mikke would like to have a tool to launch the election.
