Restrictions and exceptions
The limitation of air traffic was established for reasons related to State safety under the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure, providing for the anticipation of a ban for up to 3 months. At the request of the Operations Command of the Types of Armed Forces, from 10 September at 10 p.m. to 9 December at 23:59 p.m., the restricted region EP R129 in the east part of Poland applies. According to a map published by PPA, this area covers the full border with Belarus and Ukraine.
Source: XThe Agency has indicated that the EP region R129 from dusk to dawn is subject to a complete ban on flights, excluding military aircraft. Additionally, a 24-hour ban on civilian drones was introduced. From sunrise to sunset, flights in the region shall be permitted only in certain cases: for manned aircraft after the flight plan has been submitted, equipped with an efficient transponder operating in Mode A and C or Mode S, maintaining continuous radio contact with the applicable ATS body and, where necessary, having two-way communication on the designated channel. Nor does the prohibition include military flights, operations carried out for the password GARDA or ALPHA SCRAMBLE and flights with the position HEAD, STATE, SAR, HOSP, MEDEVAC and FFR.
The Communication indicated that, following an agreement with the Air Operations Centre of the Air Operations Command (DSO COP-DCP) at number 261, 828 202, flights of state aviation, air rescue and operations related to the provision of assistance in situations of threat to human or animal health, in peculiar in natural disasters, disasters, ecological hazards or another emergency conditions may be permitted. The authorisation may besides cover flights for the protection and supervision of critical infrastructure. PPA stressed that the entry into the active region of aircraft not complying with the conditions of the exemption constitutes a violation of the Aviation Law.
Russian drones in Poland
On the night of Tuesday on Wednesday, Russian drones repeatedly breached Polish airspace, flying over the territory of the country during the attack on Ukraine. any of them were shot down, and they're inactive searching for their remains.
The first signals of the incidental appeared just before 3 a.m. erstwhile Russia led a massive attack on Ukraine. Operations Command of Types of Armed Forces reported that this was an unprecedented scale violation, treated as an act of aggression posing a real threat to citizens.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk considered the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones to be a wide-ranging provocation. He pointed out that the procedures implemented were well functioning and the decisions made were right. He stressed that the threat had been effectively eliminated through strong military action and the support of allies. He besides noted that the incidental was no origin for panic.
