We have this — one more time fresh Left announces that there is already an agreement with PSL on a government law on partnerships that will yet not be about partnerships. If anyone's been counting, which one's been erstwhile in the last fewer months we've heard of this mythical arrangement, let me know.
What do we know from media reports? In short:
erstwhile Minister of Equality Catherine Kotula and Deputy Marshal Vladimir Czarzasty confirmed in an interview with PAP that a compromise with the PSL was reached, but the details will not be provided until next week,
This is not about the draft law on partnerships consulted by LGBT+ organisations and 5645 people who utilized our form, but about an even more truncated task on a "partnership agreement",
The Left agreed to the concessions requested from the very beginning by PSL: there will be no ceremony at the civilian state office, only the signing of the contract with the notary, and rainbow families with children will stay without any legal protection,
According to Marshal Szymon Hołownia, the task is initially included in the agenda and could go to work in the Sejm already at the next meeting, which is October 15-17.
What don't we know?
What will actually be in the project: what rights have been protected from “compromise” and what has been sacrificed,
Does the "agreement" mean that the PSL only agrees to call the Government Act, or undertakes to vote in favour of it,
Whether the name "partnership agreement" remains whether the PSL has won an additional change of that name, as the media late reported — that it does not associate in any way with relationships and love;
Will president Karol Nawrocki sign the "closer person" bill if he was willing to talk about it, or if he thinks he meant something else, and the government bill protects our families very much, so he has to veto it.
Let us repeat: this is fulfilling demands of PSL and Kosiniak-Kamysz, not the needs of LGBT+ people surviving in Poland. The community made it clear in the consultation that the erstwhile task was a sad minimum. Meanwhile, we are getting a degradation of the partnerships into a notarial agreement on a common life that possibly will not even affect civilian status.
Karol Nawrocki's theoretical rejection of the relation task is irrelevant if the president has nothing to veto. He has not been blocking the bill for a year, but the PSL — with full approval from Donald Tusk, who pretends that this is not his case and 1 of the main promises of his government. It is PSL Members, not Nawrocks, who can vote against the bill in the Sejm or vanish by accident at the time of the vote in the toilet.
There is no regulation that requires the Sejm to deal with only 1 bill and forbid a second approach. If Nawrocki had rejected the unions, the government could have proposed "The roommate+". Meanwhile, PSL, a organization with a fewer percent support, dictates Tusk, which is allowed his government to deposit in the Sejm.
At political level, it is simply surrender. At the level of Poland's global position, respect for human rights and compliance with the obligations of the state towards its citizens, this is simply a disgrace which would be a shame in 2015. present she should be a origin for anger.
Do not let yourself be told that we are to celebrate this bite and thank the government, PSL, Nawrock, Pasławska, Kotuli or Czarzaste for it. The anticipation of resolving any of the authoritative cases will not remove the fact that the compromise partnerships, or the quarter-marital couples of the second category, stay a notarial agreement that is rejected from any appearances of decent treatment of our families.
