European Commission announces 19th package of sanctions on Russia: Prohibition of LNG imports and impact on energy giants

European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen announced on Friday that the proposal of the 19th sanction package on Russia contained a ban on Russian LNG imports into European markets and the ban on Rosnieft and Gazprom Nieft. The sharpening is besides expected to affect companies in 3rd countries, including China.
