CSM comment: "Taiwan in the shadow of tension: president Lai and the rhetoric of the duration"

"On 20 May 2025, on the occasion of the first anniversary of taking office, Taiwan's president William Lai gave a speech which was the essence of his political credo since he took office: peaceful improvement intertwined with defence strengthening, an innovative economy supported by strategical sovereignty and openness to talks with Beijing, of course on terms of common respect." From 2015 to 2019 he was the CEO of the Polish Bureau in Taipei. Lecturer of the Institute of Culture Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
