6.2 tons of gold was bought by the National Bank of Poland in May - according to Friday data published by the central bank. This means that at the end of May NBP had about 515 tonnes of this aggregate worth nearly PLN 205 billion.
Friday National Bank of Poland published data on liquid assets and liabilities in abroad currency at the end of May.
It follows that at the end of the period of May held NBP was over 16.57 million ounces of gold of a value exceeding PLN 204.89 billion. As of the end of April, NBP resources arrived 200,000 ounces of gold, and its value increased by more than PLN 2.6 billion.

The value of gold held by NBP at the end of May was above EUR 48.2 billionand in dollars – over 54.58 billion.

16.57 million ounces gold is ca. 515.5 tonnes. In early May, NBP president Adam Glapiński reported that the NBP is over 509,3 tonnes gold. This means that the NBP bought approx. 6.2 tonnes of gold.
