Further attempts to push the Polish-Belarusian border. 110 incidents in 1 day

On 2 September, nearly 110 attempts to illegally cross the border from Belarus to Poland were reported in the area of the Podlaskie Border defender Branch. The most incidents occurred in the vicinity of the facilities in Czeremsze, Michałów, Dubichych Cerkiewne and Narewce.

A peculiarly dangerous situation occurred close the border defender station in Michałów, where a group of migrants tried to cross the border river Świsłocz. Attempts to illegally cross the border were frequently aggressive – Border defender officers and soldiers of the Polish Army were repeatedly cast with stones. Fortunately, as a consequence of these attacks, no 1 was injured.

This is further proof that the Polish-Belarusian border is inactive under large migratory pressure. Since the beginning of 2025, the Podlaskie SG Branch has already recorded over 23.1 1000 attempts to illegally cross the border. Most of them took place in the border areas of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, where services stay on constant alert.

Border defender officers stress that the border is effectively protected and that the activities of the services are carried out in compliance with the laws and safety rules. At the same time, they call for consideration and non-disinformation from Belarusian services, which have been accused of supporting illegal migration for a long time.

The situation on the east border of Poland remains tense and requires constant monitoring.
