The territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw dismissed the investigation of the alleged "Two Towers" issue, reported Radio Wnet. The investigation afraid the suspicion that PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński was expected to lead Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfellnner to an adverse regulation of considerable value.
The proceedings were accompanied by a procedural dispute. Birgfellner's attorney, Roman Giertych, unsuccessfully demanded the dismissal of prosecutor Margaret Szeroczyńska, accusing her of limiting questions during the hearing. Eventually, the investigator decided to discontinue the proceedings, considering that the collected material did not give emergence to further investigation.
The case dates back to 2019 and concerns the unrealised investment of Silver, affiliated to PiS. Birgfellner claimed that he had incurred the cost of preparing the plan of 2 skyscrapers in Warsaw and demanded a €1.3 million salary. After refusing to pay, he filed a announcement with the prosecution, accusing Kaczyński of cheating. The investigation was not initiated for respective years. Only after the change of power, in February 2025, did the prosecution decide to resume it. In June 2026 Jarosław Kaczyński was first interviewed in six years in this case – the evidence lasted 9 hours.
The investigators yet concluded that ‘the act was not committed or that there was no adequate evidence to justify the suspicion of the act’. Gierty announced that a complaint would be filed for the prosecution's decision.
