WHEN ARMY EXPENSES BECOME AN INVESTMENT IN THE ECONOMY

Can defence spending become a flywheel of the Polish economy? A good starting point for this question is the PKO of the Bank of Poland communication dated 7 July 2026, erstwhile analyses of PKO BP and Deloitte and the study "Investments in Polish defence industry", prepared by me together with Wojciech Decewicz for Liberté. The common conclusion is simple: the scale of spending on the army alone is not enough. Whether they become an investment in the economy will be determined by their structure - import-intensiveness, national added value, technology, service, export and quality of the country as a contracting entity.
