Keeping Father Olszewski in custody is simply a political substance and sets a precedent in post-communist Poland – his defence lawyer says in an interview with Ordo Iuris (video)

– The government promised its voters that it would hold the PiS government to account, especially in the Justice Fund. So it is showing that it is holding it accountable, and it seems that Father Olszewski may be a victim of this settlement, and along with him besides 2 officials from the Ministry of Justice, who have besides been in prison for half a year – says lawyer Krzysztof Wąsowski, defender of Father Michał Olszewski and 1 of the 2 officials detained in the same case on the orders of the prosecutor's office of Adam Bodnar just before Easter. This happened shortly after the unlawful change of the national prosecutor by the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and shortly after the establishment of peculiar squad no. 2 within the national prosecutor's office, which was to settle accounts for the usage of the Justice Fund by today's opposition erstwhile it was in power, i.e. until December last year.
