On Thursday morning, media reported a failure of communication with a passenger aircraft in the Amur region of the Far East of Russia. According to the latest reports, the wreckage of the device was found. There were respective twelve people on board, including children.


According to the BBC, Russian rescue services found an An-24 plane wreck about 16 km from the mark airport in the Amuru region. The device disappeared from the radar as it approached Tynda Airport.

The aircraft belonged to Angara Airlines and took off from Blagowieszczenska, located close the border with China. The exact number of people on board is not yet sure, due to the fact that different sources supply different information.

The politician of the Amur region wrote on the Telegram that there were 43 passengers and 6 crew members. In turn, the Ministry of Extraordinary Situations reports "about 40 people on board".

Vasily Orlov reported that "all essential resources were engaged" to find the aircraft. He added that there were 5 children on board.

Uncertain number of passengers on board


The Russian Ministry of Extraordinary Situations reported that a civilian aviation chopper spotted the burning fuselage of an aircraft on the hillside, about 16 km from Tynda.

Rescuers were sent to the site to conduct a search in hard terrain. Among the activities active were the Mi-8 multitasking helicopter.

An-24 aircraft was taking the final flight from the city of Chabarovsk in the Far South East of Russia. The origin of the disaster remains unknown for now.
