On Wednesday morning, in the presence of the National Assembly, Karol Nawrocki took an oath and formally took office as president of the Republic of Poland. The words, “So aid me, God” have ended the chain of oath, the content of which clearly commits to the faithfulness of the Constitution—and this, in fact, commands the protection of the life and dignity of all man.

It's not just a formal act of taking office. It is simply a commitment – to the nation and to the law – to defender the values on which the Polish constitutional order is based. And 1 of them, fundamental and inalienable, is the protection of the life of all man. Article 38 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland leaves no doubt: “The Republic of Poland provides all man with the legal protection of life.” This is simply a evidence that obliges the head of state to take peculiar care of the weakest – including those who do not yet have a voice due to the fact that they are only in the womb.

The fresh president in his message emphasized his attachment to the sovereignty of the state, to Polish identity and to values rooted in the family. He announced support for education, which is expected to form Poles conscious of their roots and responsibilities towards Homeland. This is simply a imagination of a faithful Poland – strong with its own culture and law, resistant to force from outside borders.

President Nawrocki besides made it clear that he did not intend to succumb to force from global institutions – including the European Union – if he tried to impose solutions contrary to the Polish constitutional and civilization order. Poland – as he stressed – cannot be the place where from the outside models are introduced contrary to national tradition, Christian heritage and the strategy of values that shaped our identity for centuries.

In his message, Karol Nawrocki besides stressed that he understood the office of president not as a privilege but as a responsibility. "I am the president to service the public," he pointed out clearly that his mission would be to act for the common good, respecting tradition, natural law and constitutional values.

At the end of his speech, president Nawrocki said: “God bless Poland. Long live Poland!” — giving the full ceremony not only a state dimension but besides a spiritual dimension, rooted in values close to millions of citizens.

Karol Nawrocki succeeded Andrzej Duda, who served as president for 2 terms. Before the fresh president, 5 years of advanced office in the state.

The pro-life environment looks forward to this presidency, expecting that the protection of life – from conception to natural death – will not be an empty slogan, but a real work resulting from the constitutional oath.

According to the Constitution, the president is to uphold its provisions. This means not only taking care of the letters of the law, but besides of his spirit – and this 1 clearly says: human life deserves protection from beginning to end.
