Karol Nawrocki is sworn in as president of the Republic of Poland on August 6, 2025. 42-year-old Gdańszczan, erstwhile president of the Institute of National Memory and erstwhile manager of the planet War II Museum, won the presidential election with 50.89 percent of the votes (at 49.11 percent for Rafał Trzaskowski). Nawrocki, a formally partyless candidate, competed as a typical of the civilian committee of conservative authorities with strong support of the Camp of Law and Justice. His way to the Presidential Palace is an unorthodox biography of the historian and activist who became a symbol of the conservative outlook. Born 3 March 1983 in Gdańsk, he was raised in Siedlce, a household with strong patriotic traditions. His father Richard was a turner and activist of Solidarity,
