With the presidency of Karol Nawrocki, the German war reparations for Poland returned to the Polish political scene. This issue, like many others, has become the bone of disagreement on the president-government line.
— This week the Prime Minister announced that a contract for the acquisition of submarines would be signed by the end of the year. I remember that erstwhile the German Chancellor was inactive Olaf Scholz and he came to Warsaw as shortly as he spoke to Donald Tuski during the current coalition. Indeed, it was said that this subject of reparation, redress, would stand on the agenda, as Onetu says. However, as he explains, the talks yet failed.
— Later, the erstwhile elections in Germany changed the government and in fact the subject disappeared. Of course, the fact that we will be addressing these issues during the next meetings here will not change much, he adds.
The podcast leader notes that the government does not intend to cooperate on possible German reparations for Poland with the President. “The government is not willing to actively assist Karol Nawrock in this substance due to the fact that Minister Sikorski says directly: The subject is closed, we are talking about the subject of reparation. Whether it is simply a substance of making amends, it will prove to be so,” says Kamil Dziubka.
Onetu's writer besides reveals that during his visit to Germany, Nawrocki wanted to link the subject of war reparations with a question of support for the east flank of NATO. “ But Steinmeier said that there are 2 different things that Germany does not combine, ” he notes.

The creators of the “Exception State” remind that Poland renounced war reparations from Germany decades ago. Nevertheless, the issue continues to return.
