Munich safety Conference

As of Friday, the 61st edition of the Munich safety Conference has been held in Germany, attended by more than 60 Heads of State and Government and over 100 Ministers. On the first day of the event, the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski estimated that the United States had never seen Ukraine as a NATO associate State. “I did not hear from the U.S. president that we would be there,” said the Ukrainian leader.

The president of Ukraine besides expressed the belief that Trump's talks with Putin represent a hazard to the full world. He stated that he did not plan to discuss the end of the war in his country with any Russians but Putin.

U.S. Vice president J.D. Vance gave his Friday speech in Munich a full focus on the harsh criticism of European democracy, accusing Europe of moving distant from its own values, utilizing censorship, ignoring voters and persecuting Christians. "The biggest threat to Europe is not Russia or China, but the threat from within, Europe's retreat from any of the most basic values," Vance said.

His message was met with a sharp repost from German defence minister Boris Pistorius. He accused Vance of questioning democracy in Europe and comparing the situation in part of the continent to the situation in authoritarian regimes.
