Tomasz Siemoniak, head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, addressed the issue of the referendum on illegal migration which the Law and Justice Office is seeking. In his opinion, 2 years ago, erstwhile the Deputy Prime Minister for safety was Jarosław Kaczyński, "the number of illegal migrants was higher".
During a Sunday conference organized at the Polish-German border crossing, Jarosław Kaczyński revealed that the PiS had already collected over half a million signatures. They were requested to hold a referendum on illegal migration.
Kaczyński besides announced that it was not the end of collecting signatures, and that in the close future, an application was planned. "The referendum is needed; citizens should talk on this issue," he stressed.
Semoniak's Acute Response
The case was addressed by Tomasz Siemoniak, who referred to politicising the full problem. – It is worth that this full discussion, this issue so crucial for Poles – concerning the safety of Poles – should be free from disinformation and organization struggle. We have an absolutely common interest here – he replied.
Siemoniak besides attacked the president of PiS. "Thousands of illegal migrants were in the days erstwhile in the government Jarosław Kaczyński was the Deputy Prime Minister for Security. And these numbers were radically higher 2 years ago. I do not know who is able to say that he is behind illegal migration, so there is no request for a referendum. I think we're all opponents of illegal immigration. This is simply a crime, this is hybrid aggression, so why make a referendum in this respect? – he said.
