K2 to Get a "Smart Shield." South Korea Launches a Multi-Billion Program

South Korea is launching a large-scale modernization program for its K2 main conflict tanks. The tanks will be equipped with an active protection system, devices to jam drones and improvised explosive devices, and remotely controlled weapon modules. The program is valued at 3.43 trillion won, or about $2.43 billion.
