“You are brave people! Thank you for acting!’ March organizers for life from Poland at a gathering in Warsaw

– Marches for Life and household are a origin that changes reality. You are brave men! Thank you for coming! – said Marcin Perłowski, manager of the Centre for Life and household to organise marches from various cities of Poland. On Saturday, January 24, leaders of the march environment from the country met in Warsaw.

The gathering of representatives of the March Movement began with the Holy Mass in the chapel of the Presidential Palace held in the intention of defending life and organizers and participants of the Marches for Life from all over Poland. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr Jarosław Wąsowicz SDB, chaplain of the president of the Republic of Poland, and the organizers of the March for Life and household in Bielsko Podlaski and Nisk joined the concelebration, Fr Zbigniew Karolak and Fr Mirosław Nakonieczny. – Marches for Life and household is simply a testament to our religion and defence of those who cannot defend themselves – he spoke in the homily of Holy Mass. – They are highly crucial and are part of the spiritual program of the rebirth of our nation. Thank you for that! – he added. Fr. Wąsowicz returned briefly until the end of the 1980s and recalled the spontaneous action of young people from the Youth Fighting Federation, in which he was then active. Young people left the inscriptions “killing children here”.

After the Holy Mass, representatives of the Center of Life and Family, coordinator of most marching events, and organizers who arrived in Warsaw, among others, from Bielsk Podlaski, Ciechanov, Chełm, Gorice Wielkie, Koprzywnica, Niska, August, Suwałk, Śrem, Wadowice, Wołomin, Zduńska Wola met at the Stańczyk Club to share the experience of building march movement in their environments.

The gathering was besides an chance to thank local community representatives for taking up and spreading the thought of Marches for Life and Family. The words of appreciation for local leaders were expressed by Paweł Ozoba, manager of the Stańczyk Club, erstwhile president of the Center for Life and Family. – Commitment to defend life and household is simply a wonderful mission and vocation... Pro-life and pro household activities are highly crucial and highly needed. You are the elite – stressed and recalled that this activity affects not only the present but besides the future generations.

The current manager of the Center for Life and household and the Vice president of the Ordo Iuris Institute, Marcin Perłowski, thanking the organizers for their commitment and determination, noted that the mission to defend life and household needs large courage, due to the fact that the environment in which the organizers prepare the march is not always favorable to the values of care for life and family. At the same time Marcin Perłowski encouraged everyone to endure and proceed the thought of marches. – Marches are a shared, joyful celebration, parents give space to find a community of people of akin values (...) should besides be a concrete sign of opposition in the face of attacks on family, marriage, should be a meaningful message to local and state authorities. Marches are a origin that changes reality – he said.

The manager of CZIR pointed out, for example, the changes that occurred in the United States. As he said, the Americans went out on the streets of their cities 1 year after the ultimate Court in 1973 declared judgement in the Roe vs Wade case, which allowed the killing of children in abortion practically until their birth. all year, life defenders gathered under the SN building to express their opposition and be the voice of the unborn. After many years, in 2022, the ultimate Court overturned the conviction that contributed to the death of millions of Americans. – It was akin in our country. The first Marches for Life began 20 years ago and are inactive organized in many cities of Poland. The awareness that thousands of people are opposed to killing children in abortion has contributed to the fact that the Constitutional Court found the eugenic premise unconstitutional, thereby strengthening the defence of life – he said.

Marcin Perłowski besides encouraged the inclusion of young people in the thought of marches. As he noted, 2 thirds of the participants in the March for Life in the United States are young people. Young people, as he said, request a feeling that they are not alone. It happens that young people declaring attachment to household values, to the defence of life or opposing LGBT ideology are lonely and stigmatized.

During the gathering at the Stańczyk Club, Paweł Kwasniak, Coordinator of Social Projects presented the activities of the Centre of Life and household in the area of coordinating Marches for Life throughout Poland. He besides presented opportunities for cooperation with the Center for Life and household and the Ordo Iuris Institute. Among the proposals are publications on family, contemporary threats and ideology, interesting thematic lectures, as well as interesting films. “Love greater than fear”, “and that I will not leave you”.

An crucial part of the gathering of representatives of the March Movement was the discussion panel during which the March organizers for Life took the floor. It was a time to share the experience of organizing marches and events in individual cities, as well as an chance to exchange insights and inspiring ideas.
