On 28 August, on the Day of Polish Aviation, a tragic accident occurred in Radom. During the rehearsals for the Air Show, the F-16 plane crashed and the device pilot - Major Maciej "Slab" Krakowian - died on the spot. He is the leader of Tiger Demo squad from the 31st Tactical Aviation Base in Poznań.
The initiator of the collection for the household of the deceased pilot is the Siepomag Foundation. "Major Krakowian was an experienced fighter pilot, instructor-pilot of the 31st Tactical Aviation Base in Poznań-Krzesiny and a associate of the elite squad Tiger Demo Team, who has been representing Poland in Europe with pride for a decade. Those who knew him call him the pride of the Polish Air Force and the ace of aviation. He was besides a devoted husband of Magdalene's wife and a loving father of 4-year-old twins, Olek and Nicholas"- We read.
As the funds were donated, they are collected for the sons of the major, to aid in the most hard time of their lives, and to safe their future - the future that Dad dreamed for them. "100% of the fundraising will be allocated to this intent and the support of Major's sons"- highlighted.
"We ask you to aid 2 small boys who will gotta grow up without Dad. all motion of support is simply a tribute to the courage and dedication of Maciej, a tribute to his memory and service. It is simply a brick, building the future of his children to grow up in a sense of safety and support that their father always wanted for them"- added.
