President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a government amendment to introduce divorces “at the clerk’s.” “There are cases that cannot be brought into administrative formalities,” he explained.

The Ministry of Justice task provided for the anticipation of ending a matrimony outside the court in a simpler procedure for couples without children. The president felt that specified a solution strikes the thought of matrimony and the foundations of social life – it could advance the treatment of matrimony as a “relationship to try” and deepen the demographic crisis. “Marriage is not just an entry in the register,” he stressed.

The president besides pointed out that the court better protects the weaker side of the relation than the authoritative procedure.
