The inheritance in Poland fell to about 1.07. This is the lowest score in the full post-war history. In a decade, the birth rate has almost halved.

But Poles inactive dream about family. According to demographic studies, 2 children stay the perfect of most Poles. If we want to have children and we don't have them, it means that something is making it more hard for us.

One of the main barriers is fear. A young woman's fear that motherhood will push her out of the labour market. Metaanalysis published in the prestigious "Demography" (co-author: Prof. Anna Matysiak from the University of Warsaw) proves that occupation uncertainty kills decisions about the child.

What truly works?

The systematic review of 2022 leaves no doubt: generous parental leave consistently increases fertility.

Conclusion? A female must have a real choice. A parent who wants to stay with a kid should be able to take full-time parental leave (my opinion is paid, but I have already mentioned this). On the another hand, a parent who wants to get back into the profession must be certain that the occupation is waiting for her, that she will not be given announcement erstwhile she returns from her education.

Therefore, I propose 3 circumstantial legal solutions to strengthen the position of young mothers in the labour market:
Relief in ZUS for the employer. For 12 months after the mother's return to work, the state takes over any of the contributions paid by the employer. For each child, regardless of the size of the maternity and parental leave used.
Pregnancy leave paid by the State from the first day, not from the employer's pocket.
Holidays due for maternity and educational periods financed by the State.

Effect? The young parent ceases to be a ‘risk’ in the eyes of the employer and becomes an attractive worker. Let us be clear: employers themselves will not make household policies. It is the work of the Polish state.
