The number of 100-year-olds in Japan has surpassed 100,000 for the first time in history, reaching 107,677 people – present the Ministry of wellness passed.
This is the 56th year in a row in which this age group grew.
Official statistic show that nearly 88% of centennials are women – over 94,000 people. Japan's oldest resident is 114-year-old Fuyo Kishimoto, while Japan's oldest man is 112-year-old Hikaru Kato.
