The January Uprising to this day has been a subject of interest and discussion by historians for decades trying to settle the dilemma regarding its outbreak, its course and the effects that its demise brought. The uprising went down in past as a synonym for prolonged guerrilla warfare fought by the underground state, later being in Europe a peculiar pattern of the alleged tiny war and popular resistance. To a certain extent, the Polish experience of 1863 — 65 was utilized in building the concept of full opposition of the Major. Hans von Dach in Switzerland (1957) and their echoes can besides be found in our contemporary opposition Operating Concept (ROC).
